Spring Fun

We've taken advantage of the sunny days over the last couple weeks to have some fun outside. We spent an afternoon at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, have played in the backyard, went to the park, and did an easter egg hunt in our neighborhood. The girls LOVE being outside!

Climbing and Walking

This is how all the little furniture looks as of late, in effort to deter Kayla from climbing, a new favored activity. She has been able to climb onto Tori's bed for a while now, but this week discovered that all the other children's furniture makes for good climbing opportunities too.
And she is getting quite resourceful...
And finally, a couple short videos of Kayla WALKING. She took her first steps last night. Once she got started. there was almost no stopping her. As fast as she'd lose her balance and plop down, she'd be right back up again taking multiple steps.

Afternoon at the Zoo

A couple weeks ago the girls and I ventured to the zoo to meet up with an out of town friend and her family. It was a bit of a chilly day, supposed to rain, but we decided to brave it anyway, and had one of the best times. Here are the kids getting ready to head in.I think I counted only 3 other cars in the parking lot when we arrived (late in the afternoon) so the kids were able to wander around a lot more freely than usual. Tori loved the otters, was a little frightened to get close to the sea lions, was terrified of the lions, but of course, couldn't get enough of the statues to climb on.
Kayla enjoyed herself for the most part, until she got too tired and promptly fell alseep.
It was a very enjoyable day with great company. The kids had a ball. We left the zoo when it closed, met Ej for dinner, and then all met back at our house for some more fun and visiting. And of course one more photo op of all the kiddos.

A New View

Kayla has mastered climbing up onto Tori's bed recently. And usually once she's conquered the climb, she turns around with this satisfied look on her face.

6 Months

It's hard to believe that Kayla is 6 months old already. Time has flown by so quickly.
