A Day at the Beach

A couple weeks ago we had a mini-vacation when Ej took the week off from work. We decided to take one day and spend it at the beach. It's been almost a year since Tori had been to the beach and she was excited to go. We piled into the van around 10am and headed to Seaside, hopeful that both girls would take a nap enroute. Thanfully they did...
Once we arrived in Seaside, we found a prime parking spot at the end of the promenade, gathered all our gear, and trekked onto the beach to bbq lunch. Little did we know that our portable bbq was not in working order, so we decided we'd get our enjoyment of the beach and then head into town for some lunch. Tori had a ball digging in the sand with her shovel and bucket, chasing the seagulls, feeding the seagulls animal cookies, and just running wild.

After running herself ragged, it was time to find some lunch, and to wander through the streets of Seaside. Tori is fascinted with the carousel so of course we had to take some time to watch the horses. She could sit and watch it for hours, but has no interest in riding it. All in all it was a very fun day, and a very successful first full-day-trip-outing as a family of four.
