A Day at the Beach

A couple weeks ago we had a mini-vacation when Ej took the week off from work. We decided to take one day and spend it at the beach. It's been almost a year since Tori had been to the beach and she was excited to go. We piled into the van around 10am and headed to Seaside, hopeful that both girls would take a nap enroute. Thanfully they did...
Once we arrived in Seaside, we found a prime parking spot at the end of the promenade, gathered all our gear, and trekked onto the beach to bbq lunch. Little did we know that our portable bbq was not in working order, so we decided we'd get our enjoyment of the beach and then head into town for some lunch. Tori had a ball digging in the sand with her shovel and bucket, chasing the seagulls, feeding the seagulls animal cookies, and just running wild.

After running herself ragged, it was time to find some lunch, and to wander through the streets of Seaside. Tori is fascinted with the carousel so of course we had to take some time to watch the horses. She could sit and watch it for hours, but has no interest in riding it. All in all it was a very fun day, and a very successful first full-day-trip-outing as a family of four.

Decorated Kayla

Mother's Day Weekend we had the opportunity to dedicate (decorate according to Tori) Kayla in our new church, New Day Community Church. It was a fun evening as all of the grandparents and our closest friends were able to be there for the occasion. It was an extra special way for me to be able to celebrate a mother's day with my mom, and my daughters. Tori even decided to join us, off and on, up in front. Here are a few pictures of our littlest one being decorated.
in the post below is a slideshow of our family over the last couple months...enjoy

Meet Gus

Last week Ej and Tori were outside playing when Ej caught a little green frog in our backyard. Tori was fascinated with it, and as the picture shows, was in awe of the tiny little creature that Daddy placed in her hand. A while later she informed me that the frog's name was Gus.

Introducing...

Kayla Marie
It took a lot of work, a few scares, and a couple days to decide on her name, but our beautiful daughter is now happily, and healthily in our arms. We are all adjusting well to having a baby in the home again. Tori is fascinated with Kayla and showers her with kisses, loves holding her, and often refers to Kayla as her baby.
